Paul Hartman, Jane
Bentham and George Wibby |
Jane Bentham has served Oakland University and the athletic
department faithfully for over 25 years. Her dedication can not only be measured in terms
of longevity, but also her daily devotion to her job. No one knows when Jane arrives in
the morning because she is always there before anyone else. Throughout the day she deals
with a variety of staff members and their problems.
To the students she is a friend concerned about their well
being. A former student and recent Hall of Honor inductee put it best in writing
"Congratulations on your upcoming, well deserved honor. The continuity you have
provided the athletic department, your sincere concern about the success of the program
and the student-athlete, your concern about them as people, have been rewarded by this
recognition as well as the trust and respect you have earned and enjoy from your friends
and fellow workers."
For anyone to work at the same job for 25 years is reason
enough to give recognition. To work at the same job with enthusiasm, courtesy, and
professionalism while providing a valuable source of leadership and information is cause
for celebration. |
