Mascot Tryout Information

YOU COULD BE THE NEXT OAKLAND UNIVERSITY GRIZZ!

Eligibility

Any current OU student or incoming/transfer student interested in being part of the OU Spirit Squad as the Grizz mascot is eligible to tryout.  If named to the mascot team, the team member must maintain a 2.25 GPA and be making progress towards a degree.

Tryouts

Tryouts for The Grizz mascot will take place on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, 2008 in the Bubble.  The tryout will consist of the following:

·         Crowd Yell:  The material will be taught on Saturday morning and will be performed on Saturday afternoon.  This will be done with those trying out for cheerleading, which makes for a game like setting.  You will be judged on how well you can lead the crowd.  The Grizz costume will be used for this part of the tryout.

·         Skit:  The skit should be no more than 1 minute long and should be to music.  Props, costume changes (remember you are in the Grizz costume), and creativity are all necessary for success.  Remember, keep it entertaining, but crowd friendly.  The skit should have a theme and be well thought through.  The Skit Layout sheet will also be required to be turned in on Saturday.
